NMSU Visitor Commitment
The WERC Environmental Design Contest is planning for an on-site contest in Las Cruces, NM, April 10-13, 2022.
Registration as a team member, faculty advisor, faculty co-advisor, or judge indicates your agreement to abide by the NMSU Visitor Commitment below. WERC established our protocols with the help of the NMSU Now Pandemic Action Team.
Update: The State of New Mexico has lifted the mask requirement.
Until further notice, Masks are not required at the design contest.
NMSU Visitor Commitment:
- I will follow the guidance provided by my host department (in this case, WERC) and follow current state of New Mexico and federal guidance for mask-wearing and all other health and safety measures.
- NMSU/WERC has removed the mask requirement for attendance at events.
- WERC is sourcing KN95 masks to distribute to participants at the contest. If these are provided, participants will be expected to wear the provided (or their own) KN95 masks.
- If COVID conditions worsen, we will strengthen WERC’s policy. This may include requiring temperature checks, vaccination records, or COVID-19 testing. If conditions improve, we will relax current COVID-19 policies, in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Note: NMSU staff and students are currently required to either be vaccinated or tested regularly for COVID-19.
- I will follow all signage and instructions posted indoors and outdoors regarding face coverings, social distancing, the use of access doors, and traffic flow directions.
- I will not enter or remain on any NMSU Campus if I am experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or any illness.
- If I have reason to think that I have COVID-19 and have exposed others at NMSU, I will inform the Aggie Health & Wellness Center at (575) 646-7375 for contact tracing.
WERC’s commitment to participants of the WERC Environmental Design Contest:
Should participating institution’s policies differ from WERC’s at the time of the contest, WERC will make reasonable accommodations to ensure a safe contest for all. NMSU maintains strict COVID-19 policies and we are prepared to transition to a virtual contest, if needed.
